When we were asked if we could help create a pop-up restaurant in the Saudi Arabian desert for one of the most desirable member’s clubs in the world, we leapt at the opportunity.
Our client asked us to design a series of florals and flower arrangements that would bring to life the concept of the jungle party for which this restaurant and club is most famous. Set within an ancient fort on a UNESCO world heritage site in the heart of AlUla, Saudi Arabia, this was no mean challenge and with only three weeks to make it happen during the height of a global pandemic with travel restrictions at their most stringent we of course said yes!
This ancient fort in the heart of AlUla, Saudi Arabia was transformed into a tropical paradise as we create a jungle party like no other. Vintage pots were sourced and flown in to support a myriad of bold botanical plants. Strelitzia, banana plants, monstera and tropical grasses all combined to create the most wonderful sense of welcome in this veritable oasis of luxury. In the heart of the courtyard stood our central tree. Crafted by skilled artisans, this centrepiece was flanked by trailing and cascading jungle vines.
Private dining rooms were given the royal treatment and adorned in glorious abundance with large floral arrangements using gloriosa lilies, birds of paradise flowers and the most beautiful heliconia flowers.
The terrace area was imagined to create a glorious outdoor dining environment. With jungle planting scattered throughout to add texture, colour and intimacy. This once desolate fort in the heart of a UNESCO world heritage site in AlUla, Saudi Arabia was now a destination restaurant for a 3 month pop-up activation that saw influencers and royalty from Saudi Arabia travel to immerse themselves in this iconic and unforgettable restaurant installation.
