BRIEF

Rambling along either side of the aisle in a wonderfully organic and fluid manner, a mélange of the most exquisite green hydrangea flowers. Sculptural by design, these pieces will appear to veritably ”grow” along either side of the aisle as you prepare to take the most memorable walk of your life. The end of the aisle will culminate in the same treatment.

With 8 plinths, each at different heights, artfully and eclectically arranged to allow the flowers to meander romantically throughout. Still enabling the view to also be appreciated, this molecular and contemporary design will create a picture-perfect setting within which you will prepare to say “I do!”

Suspended overhead and creating the most sensational impact, a series of floral clouds, formed using a mélange of faux green hydrangea flowers. Rambling in an organic manner, they will each have a fabulous sense of movement as they meander & contort.

Four pieces will be crafted to suspend low over the dining tables, each holding battery-operated candles as indicated above. Other piece will ramble throughout the central atrium at higher levels, ensuring a visual feast for the eyes at every turn.

The Final Creation

For a wedding ceremony at the stunning Villa Balbiano on the shores of Lake Como, floral designer Larry Walshe created an enchanting, nature-inspired ambiance by weaving green hydrangeas and delicate blooms into the setting. The lush green hydrangeas, known for their full, voluminous petals and subtle shades of green, were expertly arranged alongside soft, ethereal flowers such as white peonies, anemones, and ivy, creating a refined yet organic look.

The florals framed the ceremony space, with cascading arrangements down the aisle and at the altar, all while complementing the villa’s rich history and its breathtaking view of the lake. The combination of the hydrangea’s elegant fullness and the delicate, airy qualities of the other flowers created a serene, romantic atmosphere, allowing the natural beauty of Villa Balbiano’s surroundings to shine through.

As the ceremony transitioned into the wedding dinner, Larry Walshe’s floral design continued to enchant guests, extending the organic, botanical theme throughout the reception space. The dining tables were adorned with lush, cascading centerpieces of green hydrangeas and soft, delicate flowers, accented by trailing vines and sprigs of fresh herbs that added texture and a touch of freshness.

These arrangements were designed to feel as if they were plucked straight from the garden, bringing the outdoors inside and highlighting the villa’s magnificent lakeside setting. Subtle touches of gold and silver in the tableware and candleholders helped elevate the florals without overwhelming the natural elegance of the blooms. The entire event, from ceremony to dinner, was a harmonious celebration of beauty and nature, with Larry Walshe’s impeccable floral design creating a captivating experience that felt effortlessly luxurious and intimately connected to the stunning landscape of Lake Como.
