To celebrate a golden wedding anniversary over 2 days, our clients wanted a creative setting on both nights with a cool chic vibe on the first and with touches of gold and designs that brought the outdoors, inside on the second. With the most beautiful gardens in the grounds of their house, they asked us to work alongside their gardening team to include flowers cut directly from the garden to result in an authentic and meaningful setting.
Our clients own gardens provided a huge level of inspiration, from sweetpeas and diascia to calendula and anchusa, we found an array of flowers which would form part of our colourful and textural scheme. Our client also adores art and had a wonderful collection throughout their home which provided us with much inspiration; the eclectic and varied possibilities meant we had the freedom to design theatrically and that is exactly what we did!
This 2 day wedding anniversary celebration began at a disused warehouse that was transformed from its raw industrial surroundings into a chic urban environment where guests were lavished with the dulcet tones of the Philharmonic Orchestra whilst dining on custom created tabletops that were fabricated using inspiration from one of the clients favourite artists.
String art was then strung throughout the space at contemporary angles to bring create a sense of intimacy and flair to such grand surroundings. Hundreds upon hundreds of chic crystal candleholders and dark green dinner candles ran along the dining tables to create a sea of light. Colourful nightclub seating drew reference to the colours seen on the bespoke tables and green glass stem vases were filled with simple yet elegant floral touches to add a dash of texture. For the second day of celebrations, guests entered an entirely new world; this time adorned with flowers and colour as a fabulous juxtaposition to the wedding anniversary celebrations the day beforehand.
The overall concept for the floral designs was to create the most beautiful and enchanting gardenscape that drew inspiration on the expressive and artistic nature of the property whilst at the same time referencing the flowers seen in the extensive gardens outside.
To this end, we sought to truly bring a sense of the outdoors, indoors. Using a tapestry of textures and colours to result in a detail driven scheme with much depth and interest we included dahlia, matricaria, delphinium, alchemilla & clematis alongside inclusions of sweetpeas, diascia, anchusa, calendula and helichrysum from our clients own garden.
This wonderful alchemy was then punctuated further using flowering mint alongside a myriad of summer foliage to cast a beautifully soft scent throughout the space. Dining tables then saw a series of large and hugely impressive trees inspired in their silhouette by the clients existing art collection. From golden branches, a canopy of fresh delphinium flowers were suspended in glorious abundance to create the most incredible dining experience.
After dinner, guests were then treated to private performance by celebrity musician Jools Holland within a nightclub that was built for the occasion. Velvet textures were combined with fresh floral enhanced artworks and crystal accessories to create the perfect setting to dance the night away in style!
